Company Introduction

Established in 2001 Proactive Systems offers IT support to businesses big and small. Founded by Mark Dixon, who has over 24 years’ experience in IT, Proactive Systems is a family run business that has both the experience and knowledge to get your business up and running on the web.

Starting when PCs were first introduced to the workplace at Reed International Books in 1991, Mark progressed to Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) where he qualified as a Microsoft Certified Professional, and then advanced to a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

After three years as an IT Manager at Eidos Interactive, Mark moved to the midlands to set up his company in 2001, where a close friendship with another consultant (PCBackup) led to a partnership that ensures customers are given IT support throughout the year.

Proactive Systems maintains a small clientele of professional companies with staff numbers ranging from 1 to 90, and in most cases provide their only source of IT support.

Proactive Systems prides itself on customer preservation; we have only lost one customer in the history of the company, due to a strategic move by the NHS PCT to centralise IT. We know that IT systems will fail, often at the most inconvenient times, which is why we can always be relied on to get things back on track in the fastest time possible, and in most cases our response is immediate.

From being a hardware supplier or additional support, to a one-stop shop for all things IT, we are here for you. We can advise on things like strategy, better business practices and monitor servers and services, or even become your entire IT department if that’s what you need.

  • Onsite

    Our engineers will come to your workplace to ensure all of your IT equipment is in good working order, installing protection and updates where necessary. This builds strong relationships, and helps us know how best to advise you.

  • Remote

    Advances in technology allow our engineers resolve most problems remotely, giving you an immediate solution at a cheaper price.

  • Pricing Structure

    Pay as you go: simply call us when you need help and we will charge by the ¼ hour (minimum 1 hour).

    Prepaid: you buy blocks of time in advance, which gets taken away every time you need a service. Time credit rolls over from month to month and there is no end of year cut-off.

    Cover Plus: you pay a monthly fee (based on the size of your company), and we will guarantee emergency support within a specified time limit.

Rugby Funeral Home

We created a bespoke interactive website for Rugby Funeral Homes, complete with a calendar events page.

Fotofly

We created an entirely manageable photography website, which allows client to login and manage their entire websites content.

Rubinstein Phillips

Rubinstein Phillips used our services to move their London offices over a weekend, which meant setting up an IT environment from scratch.

Paul Beech

We migrated their Microsoft platform from SBS 2003 to 2011, achieving this with a two-step process over a weekend, without losing any data.

NHS

We successfully rolled out a number of PCs to doctors’ surgeries in the Rugby area, liaising with contractors and the PCT, whilst remaining flexible around surgery times.

Guidance Marine

We migrated 24 physical servers into a virtualised environment of only 6 servers, successfully reducing the company’s hardware cost and disaster recovery times.
